Red Cross VCT Flooring Project

Carpet Weaver’s Commercial Flooring Division recently partnered with the American Red Cross for a flooring renovation project at their Central Illinois Chapter headquarters in Peoria. Acting as a subcontractor, the Carpet Weavers team completed the replacement of a long hallway’s flooring with Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) featuring distinctive red highlights at each doorway—a subtle nod to the Red Cross’ signature color palette. The project was completed more than a month ahead of schedule, thanks to clear communication, strong coordination, and flexible teamwork between Carpet Weavers, the Red Cross, and other trades onsite.

VCT, or Vinyl Composition Tile, is a durable and cost-effective commercial flooring solution known for its longevity and versatility. Made from a mixture of natural limestone, fillers, and color pigments, VCT is finished with a protective polish that enhances its resilience in high-traffic areas. It offers a clean, professional look while allowing for creative design patterns through color accents—such as the red doorway highlights featured in this installation. Ideal for institutional and office environments, VCT’s ease of maintenance and ability to withstand heavy use made it the perfect choice for the Red Cross facility’s busy corridors.
